Happiness is...

New Year. New start. New life. It has been a week now. Back to the grind. The wheels are turning and things are starting to pick-up. At this point most of us are already planning activities and setting goals for this year. I say most because half, or probably more, likes spontaneity.

The Japanese tradition of visiting a shrine during the first day of the year is interesting. It is that time of the year when they write their wishes on wooden plaques, renew their amulets and seek their fortunes on written strips of paper. There are also some who would further seek the assistance of a fortune teller to know what the future has in store for them.

Whichever direction you choose the road still leads to one end. As Aristotle succinctly once said that “Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence”.

And whatever happens along the way. Be positive with life. Always keep your head up high and smile.
